ABBOTTABAD: A grieving widow, Nazeeran Bibi, has appealed for protection after one of her sons was murdered and another critically injured in a violent attack at their home in Bagh.

Nazeeran Bibi met with Abbottabad District Police Officer (DPO) Umer Tufail, who, she said, assured her of strict action against the accused and directed police to expedite proceedings.According to her application, her son Gul Faraz was allegedly killed by a man named Akram and his sons during a confrontation at their residence.

Her second son, Zeeshan, sustained severe injuries and remains hospitalized at the Ayub Teaching Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.

The family claims the attack was part of an escalating dispute, though the exact motive is still under investigation.Police registered a case under Sections 302, 324, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and have arrested three suspects.

Nazeeran Bibi further alleged that the suspects and their associates had issued death threats to her surviving sons, warning them of more violence if they pursued justice.

She claimed that despite filing a report with the police, no meaningful action had been taken, citing the accused family’s “influence and wealth” as reasons for the delay.

In her application to the DPO, she demanded immediate legal protection to ensure her family’s safety while seeking justice for her son Gul Faraz’s murder. “We live in constant fear. My children’s lives are in danger,” she said, urging authorities to intervene.

When contacted, Dr Daud Iqbal, Director of Ayub Teaching Hospital, confirmed that the injured Zeeshan was admitted to the Neurosurgery Ward in a critical condition.
