MANSEHRA: Two persons were killed when a Rawalpindi-bound truck plunged into a ravine in the Shaukatabad Jigal area of Lower Kohistan.

“It is a high mountainous, difficult terrain and policemen with the help of local tyre-tube swimmers shifted bodies to our police station via the Indus River,” Taimur Khan, the district police officer, told reporters on Wednesday.

The truck was heading to Rawalpindi from Gilgit when its driver lost control of the steering while negotiating a sharp turn and it skidding off the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and plunged into the ravine.
