KARAK: After Tuesday’s suicide blasts on Bannu cantonment, Karak police have tightened security arrangements in the boundaries with Bannu district to avert any untoward incident.
Kohat Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat visited the police stations and police posts along the boundaries in Karak district and issued special instructions to the policemen to be vigilant and alert on duty.
Karak DPO Shahbaz Elahi and SP Investigation Muhammad Ashfaq Khan also accompanied him. Marwat inspected security arrangements at the police installations in Changoos, Latambar, Khurrum, Banda Daud Shah and Terri areas.
He also went to a religious place of Hindu community and checked security arrangements there. The district police officer briefed him about the ongoing civil work aiming to strengthen the security of police stations and police posts and ensure provision of basic facilities to cops posted there.
The regional police chief praised the Karak police force for discharging their duties with professional commitment and bravery. “In the current wave of terrorism, there is no room for any kind of negligence on part of policemen in performing their duties,” he maintained, adding that the cops should be prepared to counter challenges and threats any time effectively and precisely.
