JHANG: In response to public grievances, authorities have deployed senior officials to oversee Ramazan relief measures at the district level and verify the availability of essential items.

Commissioner Maryam Khan inspected model Ramazan bazaars and local markets to ensure the availability of commodities at subsidized rates. The commissioner directed DCs and ACs to remain present at Ramazan bazaars, increase the number of sales booths, and closely monitor auction activities at fruit and vegetable markets. This comes as the Punjab chief secretary has begun evaluating the performance of district-level officials in this regard.

The commissioner also instructed officials to improve cleanliness arrangements at Ramazan bazaars and local markets. She further directed the district administration to monitor the performance of price-controlling magistrates, ensure the display of rate lists at prominent locations in shops, and verify proper measurements and weights of products, including at butcher shops. Citizens were urged to provide feedback in complaint registers and through official helpline numbers to inform provincial authorities.Meanwhile, the district administration announced a massive crackdown against chicken sellers violating notified prices, with FIRs being registered against offenders.
