NOWSHERA: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Monday expressed grave concerns over the increasing wave of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Speaking at the condolence reference held at Darul Uloom Haqqania’s Awan-e-Shariah Hall for the late Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, Achakzai, who is also the leader of the opposition’s grand alliance strongly condemned his assassination. He extended condolences to Maulana Haqqani’s brother, Maulana Rashidul Haq Haqqani, and his son and political successor, Abdul Haq Sani.
“The region is once again being turned into a hub of never-ending war and bloodshed,” he added.He stressed that the country’s survival and stability demand a united effort from all political parties, institutions, and the establishment. “How much more blood will be shed?” he questioned, urging the leadership of PMLN, PPP, MQM, JUIF, and other religious and political parties to join hands in upholding the Constitution, democracy, and the supremacy of Parliament. He asserted that the only way to pull the country out of its current crisis is by ensuring the rule of law and constitutional governance.
Despite heavy rain, a large number of religious scholars, political leaders, and delegations from various parties attended the condolence event. Among the notable attendees were ANP Senator Hidayatullah Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch, former JI chief Sirajul Haq, JI Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, PMLN’s Sardar Yousaf, and Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith leader Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer.
The participants not only offered Fateha (prayers for the departed soul) but also strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani’s life, calling for urgent measures to curb the rising tide of extremism in the region.
