SWABI: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Amir Muqam inaugurated a new electricity grid station worth Rs 800 million here Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Amir Muqam criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for what he said was poor governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2013. He accused the PTI leadership of focusing on protests instead of development. While Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has brought progress in Punjab, PTI had failed to deliver in KP, he went on to add.

“The revolution you see in Punjab is due to the determination of PMLN leadership,” he said, adding, “In contrast, PTI’s politics of sit-ins and protests have harmed Pakistan economically and tarnished its international image.”Amir Muqam said that the recent PTI rally in Swabi had failed to attract public support, indicating that people had rejected the party’s “empty claims.”

He lauded former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for delivering on public expectations and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for steering Pakistan away from economic default. “Due to Shehbaz Sharif’s relentless efforts, Pakistan was saved from default, despite the challenges left by the previous PTI government,” he added.

The PMLN leader also highlighted economic improvements, noting that inflation peaked under PTI’s rule, whereas the current government has made significant recoveries, including lifting the ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights for overseas Pakistanis.

“The overseas community has rejected PTI’s call to stop remittances and instead sent over $3 billion this year,” he added. Muqam urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to vote for PMLN in the upcoming elections, promising that the party would deliver according to their expectations.
