Protesters seek recovery of kidnapped persons

WANA: The residents at a rally here on Tuesday asked the government to recover the four persons, who were kidnapped recently.

The protest was staged in Wana, district headquarters of Lower South Waziristan, where thousands of people participated in the rally.The protesters gave the government and security agencies a three-day deadline to recover the four abducted individuals. The protest was organized by “Wana Aman Pasoon”.

The local leaders of political parties, the business community and people from all walks of life joined the protest. The participants carrying banners and placards marched through Wana Bazaar. Several political and social figures, including MPA Ajab Gul Wazir, addressed the protesters.

The speakers issued a three-day deadline to the administration, the government, and security forces, demanding the recovery of the kidnapped individuals. They warned that if the abductees were not released within three days, they would intensify the protest.

It merits a mention here that last week, unidentified armed men abducted Dr Nauman, President of South Waziristan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saif-ur-Rehman, and two customs officers, Nisar Abbas and Khushal.
