Kundi asks PSL teams to set up camps in Chitral

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtu-nkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday asked the PSL teams to set up camps in Chitral.

“The provincial government should establish playgrounds everywhere. The government should focus on promoting sports in Chitral and other districts,” he said in his address.In other provinces, he said that stadiums were built within three months. The PCB, the governor added, had constructed stadiums in Karachi and Lahore in a short time.

He said that it was unfortunate that they used to take only pictures with players but did not support them.“Our aim is to make a name for ourselves in the field of sports,” he said, adding that he would visit Chitral after Eid.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed concern over the lack of cricket grounds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa especially in Chitral district.He also pointed out that the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in the province remains incomplete, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully completed the renovation of stadiums in Karachi and Lahore in a short period.

The governor said that the development of sports grounds in the province would help enhance the country’s reputation, and the government would take practical steps in this direction.
