Residents highlight civic issues at khuli kutchehri in Shangla

ALPURI: The citizens highlighted various public issues faced by the dwellers of the shangla district at a khuli kutchehri here on Wednesday.The Khuli Kutchehri was held at Centennial Model High School, Alpuri, which was organized by the Federal Ombudsman Waheedur Rehman and the district administration of Shangla.

The citizens voiced their concerns over severe power outages, poor conditions at the District Headquarters Hospital Alpuri, shortage of medicines, inefficiency of the Public Health Department, lack of clean drinking water, drainage issues, deteriorating roads, slow internet service, legal rights of coal miners, martyr compensation packages, Bait-ul-Mal assistance, passport-related delays, and other administrative shortcomings.

A large number of people attended the session and raised complaints regarding excessive electricity load shedding, overbilling, and related problems.Issues regarding the unavailability of clean drinking water and inadequate drainage systems were also brought to light. Complaints were registered regarding the poor condition of roads and the slow pace of their repair. The lack of high-speed internet services and connectivity problems were also highlighted.

Coal miners raised concerns about their safety and legal rights. Security concerns and the need for stronger measures to combat terrorism were also discussed. Families of martyrs demanded transparency and timely disbursement of compensation packages. The people also criticized the lack of medical facilities and essential medicines in hospitals. Complaints were made about delays in obtaining passports and difficulties in accessing aid from Bait-ul-Mal.
