LALAMUSA: PML-N MNA Chaudhry Naseer Ahmad Sidhu expressed deep regret over the increasing number of Pakistani deaths in boat tragedies involving illegal migration. Addressing the media, he lamented recent incidents, including a capsized vessel near Libya’s Marsa Dela port, where several Pakistanis were feared dead. He also recalled a similar tragedy near Morocco weeks earlier, which plunged the nation into mourning.

Sidhu criticised the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other bodies for failing to curb human trafficking, accusing them of inaction. “These agencies are fooling the nation. Had strict measures been taken, we wouldn’t be finding dead bodies of innocent Pakistanis,” he stated. He demanded accountability and immediate action to block illegal migration routes, urging the government to punish those facilitating such activities.

Highlighting the devastating impact on Gujrat district, where many families have lost loved ones, Sidhu called for policies providing legal employment opportunities abroad and raising awareness about the dangers of illegal migration.
