Former federal minister and ex-senator Azam Khan Swati, while addressing a welcome reception on Thursday, alleged that some lawmakers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were involved in corruption, adding that he stated that he would discuss the issue with the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, during his meeting with him in jail.

“We are going to launch an investigation within three days through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, an appropriate forum for this matter. You [Azam Swati] may also be invited to appear before it to clarify your allegations and name all those who, according to your statement, are involved in the misuse of power,” the speaker added.

It added that if Swati failed to disclose the names of the lawmakers involved in corruption, as per his claims, it could cast doubt on his intentions.Azam Swati, who also claimed that he would bring Imran Khan to the negotiation table with Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir, announced that he would not attend PTI’s public gathering scheduled for Saturday.
