NOWSHERA: Armed assailants shot dead a local activist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and injured his companion in Pabbi Station Chowk on GT Road on Wednesday.
Sources said that three armed men opened fire on a car, killing Usman Shah, a former councillor and activist of PTI and injuring his companion. The attackers, after carrying out the targeted assault in broad daylight, fled the scene.
His brother, Mian Maskeen Shah, who was also in the car, miraculously survived the attack, while their friend Hamid Khan sustained severe injuries.Mian Maskeen Shah lodged an FIR with the police, stating that he was traveling with his brother and Hamid Khan in their car towards their home in Dag Besud when they were ambushed near Pabbi Station Chowk.
The police have stated that the motive behind the attack appears to be revenge, as the assailants suspected Usman Shah’s involvement in the recent killing of one of their brothers.Following the incident, police officials arrived at the scene and shifted the deceased and the injured to Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Hospital, Pabbi.
