Five arrested in gas tanker blast case

MULTAN: In a major breakthrough in the gas tanker explosion case of Multan’s Fahad Town area, police have arrested five accused, including two main accused.

The police arrested main accused Fayyaz (driver) and Muhammad Arif (foreman) belonging to Rehmat Carriage Company. The company used to supply gas to different cities through tankers, however, some of its employees were involved in illegal gas refilling. The explosion occurred during illegal refilling, which claimed several lives and injured several people, the police said.According to initial investigation, the arrested suspects were part of a network involved in illegal gas refilling (decanting).
