HARIPUR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on housing Dr Amjad Ali on Thursday said the provincial government was planning to kick start the development work on the first phase of the housing scheme in Haripur within three to six months.
He was talking to the members of a survey team here. MPA Akbar Ayub Khan, former minister Yousuf Ayub Khan, DG Housing Authority KP and officials of C&W and local government were also present on the occasion.
Dr Amjad Ali said that in line with the directive of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for construction of housing societies having all modern facilities, the provincial housing authority had launched a survey in Haripur and identified a piece of land measuring 3100 kanals. The proposed housing scheme would have 2765 kanals for housing purposes while the rest would be for recreational and commercial use. βThe housing scheme is going to be developed in phases and the first phase of the residential area would cover an area of 1200 kanals,β he said. The Special Assistant to CM examined the spadework and directed the survey team from the housing authority to complete and submit for approval the feasibility study of the housing society within the shortest possible time as the provincial government had a plan to kick start development work within the next three to six months.
Former provincial minister Yousuf Ayub Khan told reporters that the project would prove a face-lifting initiative for Haripur. He said that situated at a distance of barely 40 kilometers from Islamabad Capital City, the Haripur Housing Scheme would help provide a state of the art housing society to the residents of Haripur and investors.
