Movement of heavy vehicles on Charsadda Road banned

PESHAWAR: Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud has announced immediate measures to address the persistent traffic congestion on Charsadda Road, including a ban on heavy goods vehicles and the removal of encroachments at key locations.

Chairing a meeting attended by district administration officials, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority, traffic police, local lawmakers, and other stakeholders, Riaz Mahsud directed marble-laden trucks from Mohmand district to use Michini and Warsak Roads instead of Charsadda Road. He also ordered the removal of unnecessary U-turns and the deployment of additional traffic police personnel at critical points such as Bakhshi Pul, Larama, Khazana, Shah Alam and Naguman to prevent congestion.

The district administration was instructed to expedite the relocation of marble factories operating on Warsak Road to Mohmand Marble City. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority was directed to activate weigh stations immediately to monitor the load of goods vehicles arriving from Mohmand.

“We are committed to resolving traffic issues on Charsadda Road and ensuring long-term solutions,” said Riaz Mahsud. “The swift implementation of these measures will guarantee better traffic flow and protect public infrastructure,” he added.
