“We have launched the Drug-Free Kohistan drive, arresting around a dozen drug pushers and seizing charas, heroin, and ice from their possession,” District Police Officer, Lower Kohistan, Taimur Khan told reporters.

He said that the campaign was initiated under the directives of the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara range.

“A team led by DSP Mohammad Sajjad raided several houses in Pattan, arresting numerous narcotics peddlers,” Khan said.

He added that while residents were supporting the police in apprehending drug dealers, more cooperation was needed.

“We still need strong support and cooperation from locals to make our district free of narcotics during this ongoing drive, which also includes the elite force and lady constables,” he added.
