PESHAWAR: Prof Dr Qaisar Ali was appointed as the pro-vice chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar for two years and he assumed charge as acting vice-chancellor of the seat of engineering education on Thursday.
A notification was issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s Higher Education, Archives and Library Department vide No. SO (U-1) HE/2-4/22/UETP/Pro VC on January 15. Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali completed his PhD in 2004 from UET Peshawar. He became a professor in the year 2007 and a meritorious professor in 2022.
He has remained as Head of Civil Engineering. Having PhD in Earthquake Engineering, Prof Dr Qaisar Ali established the Earthquake Engineering Centre of Pakistan which was later transformed into the National Centre of Earthquake Engineering. Dr Qaisar Ali has played a role in formulating Pakistan Building Code-Seismic Provisions 2007.
