PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s Full House Committee on Tuesday decided to form a subcommittee comprising representatives from all political parties to review the 27 demands presented by the Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga.
An official handout said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur presided over the inaugural meeting of the provincial assembly’s full house committee. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, Deputy Speaker Suraiya Bibi, opposition leader Dr Abadullah and other members attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on addressing the demands of the Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga and devising a strategy for progress. It was decided to form a subcommittee comprising representatives from all political parties in the assembly. The subcommittee will review the 27 points and demands presented by the Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga and submit recommendations within a week to the full house committee. The recommendations will be categorized and forwarded to the relevant authorities for action. Issues requiring federal intervention will be sent to the federal government, provincial matters will be addressed by the provincial government, and matters concerning other institutions will be directed to the respective agencies.
The meeting resolved to revisit the decision to designate the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) as a proscribed organisation and decided to raise the issue with the federal government for reconsideration.
