5 killed as rivals trade fire in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Five persons were killed as two rival groups traded fire in Sufaid Dheri village in the limits of Pishtakhara Police Station on Sunday.

Police officials said that the members of the two rival groups, one led by Islam Khan and another headed by Wahid, resorted to open fire on each other after an exchange of arguments. As a result, four people including Ijaz, Israr, Rajwali and Zulqarnain were killed on the spot while Fakhar, Jawad and Izhar sustained bullet injuries.

One of the wounded persons succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.Police officials said the two rival groups had an old enmity. “Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused from both sides,” said an official.
