PESHAWAR: Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Saif has accused the federal government of slowing down the internet, resulting in immense suffering to the public.
In a handout issued on Monday, he said the slow internet inflicted losses of billions on the e-commerce industry and has also devastated the digital and IT sectors in the country.Barrister Dr. Saif further mentioned that while other countries are providing their citizens with 5G and advanced internet services, the federal government has pushed every sector to the brink of destruction.
He said the federal ruling coterie has pushed the country back to the Stone Age. “The Form 47 group has also imposed restrictions on social media platforms. Digital rights and human rights organisations should raise their voice against the firewall, social media shutdown, and slow internet in Pakistan,” he added.
