Youm-e-Istehsal observed in Punjab cities: Rallies, seminars held to condemn Indian atrocities in IIOJ&K

MULTAN: Like other parts of the country, the people from different walks of life and district administration observed the Youm-e-Istehsal (Kashmir Exploitation Day) here on Monday.

Various organisations and the government departments organised rallies, seminars and functions to pass resolutions against the Indian atrocities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to journalists, South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Fuad Hashim Rabbani said that India took a very hostile step by ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. He said that India wants to turn Kashmiris into a minority by settling Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that India was following the exact same policy as implemented by Israel in Palestine. Fuad Hashim Rabbani said that the entire Pakistani nation and the Pakistan Army stand with the Kashmiris.

Meanwhile, the City District Administration organised a seminar at Raza Hall which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu.The seminar participants expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris and took out a grand rally against India.

Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu led the rally along with the district officials. During the rally, the participants chanted slogans in favour of the Kashmiris and made a chain of human hands.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu said that August 5 was the darkest day in the history of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India illegally changed the status of Kashmir on August 5, 2019, he added. He said that the entire nation is standing with the Kashmiri people like a leaden wall. The entire international community should take notice of atrocities on the Kashmiris by the Indian forces, he demanded.

LALAMUSA: The Youm-e-Istehsal was observed here on Monday.The day was observed to show solidarity with the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In this connection, a protest rally was organised by the Municipal Committee Lalamusa with theme ‘Kashmir Exploitation Day’. Chief Officer Tanveer Abbas Gujjar, Coordinator Maher Ishaq Khadim and Deputy Coordinator led the rally. The participants carrying banners and flags of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan chanted slogans in favour of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. During the rally, speakers delivered speeches and condemned the illegal and unilateral measures taken by India. They highlighted the ongoing atrocities committed by the Indian army, which were the clear violations of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The speakers called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to intervene and seek a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue. They said that it was imperative that the world should acknowledge the plight of the Kashmiri people and take action against the Indian state terrorism. Freedom was a fundamental right of the Kashmiri people and they must be given the opportunity to determine their own future, Tanveer Abbas Gujjar said.

The revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, by the Indian government stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, which had granted the region autonomy over its internal affairs, he added. Article 370 had allowed Jammu and Kashmir to operate under a separate set of laws, distinct from the rest of India, including those related to citizenship, property ownership and fundamental rights, he told.
