Three cops punished in Lakki over links to criminals

LAKKI MARWAT: Three police officers were suspended on Monday due to alleged links with criminals, an official said.

A spokesman for the district police said that District Police Officer (DPO) Taimur Khan suspended SHO of Ghaznikhel Police Station, Fidaullah, for his alleged contacts with a drug dealer. He may face dismissal from service following the completion of a departmental inquiry.

Also, Asmatullah Niazi, posted at Dadiwala Police Station, was directed to report to the police lines for allegedly supporting a gambler. Upon confirmation of the charges, Niazi will be demoted to the rank of assistant sub-inspector, the spokesman said.

Another officer, Probationer ASI Anees Khan of Tajuri Police Station, was also closed to the Police Lines for allegedly collecting extortion from a notorious criminal.
