PESHAWAR: A seminar titled “Empowering Marginalised Women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Strategies for Sustainable Development and Inclusion” was arranged at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) to mark the UN Sustainable Development Goal-5 (SDG-5), focused on gender equality and women empowerment.
Members of the National Assembly Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar were chief guests at the event. SBBWU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Safia Ahmad delivered a welcome speech, taking pride in the university’s efforts to support its students. She emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing the potential of every woman studying and working there and addressing the challenges they face.MNA Shandana Gulzar elaborated on the importance of SDG 5, focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment from traditional, modern, and technical perspectives.
