Minister briefed on WSSP affairs

PESHAWAR: The officials of the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) on Wednesday briefed Minister for Local Government Arshad Ayub about the administrative, financial and operational issues of the entity.

A handout said the minister chaired the annual financial year meeting of WSSP, which was also attended by MNAs Arbab Sher Ali, Asif Khan, Local Government Secretary Dawood Khan, Commissioner Riaz Masood and other officials.

Briefing the minister, the WSSP officials 4000 employees were performing duty to provide services to a population of 2.1 million.The minister was informed that service delivery fee had been increased from Rs300 to Rs440, which had boosted the revenue. Officials said that every year, WSSP employees conducted non-stop cleaning campaigns on Eid and special days besides creating awareness about cleanliness. The WSSP requested the release of Rs620 million in the new financial year.
