Remuneration, allowances for nazims notified

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governmentTuesdayformally notified remuneration and allowances for the elected representatives of all tiers of the local government system.

According to two separate notifications issued by the Local Government and Rural Development Department here, the tehsil and town nazims would get Rs30,000 per month. They would also be entitled to 200 litres petrol, telephone charges of Rs7,000 and entertainment allowance of Rs8,000 per month. Also, TA/DA for five days in a moth would be given to the nazims.

The naib nazim of tehsil and town councils would be given honoraria of Rs20,000 per month along with telephone allowance of Rs5,000, entertainment allowance of Rs5,000 and TA/DA per day not exceeding five days a month for out of district engagements. The members of tehsil/town council would be given honoraria of Rs500 per day during the session. They would also be given TA/DA amounting to Rs500 per day for five days in a month.

Another notification stated that the village and neighbourhood councils’ nazims would get honoraria of Rs10,000 per month along with telephone expenses of Rs2,000 and entertainment allowance of Rs2,000.The naib nazim of village and neighbourhood councils would get honoraria of Rs7,000. The member of village and neighbourhood councils would get honoraria of Rs200 per day during the session, the notification said.
