The PMLN MPA, Jalal Khan, filed the damages suit for Rs71 million against PTI leader and former provincial minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra for making baseless allegations against him. The Additional District and Sessions Judge, Attaullah Jan began hearing the case and issued a notice to the former provincial minister to submit his reply till May 29 and adjourned the proceedings. Jalal Khan filed the damages suit through his lawyer Zahanatullah Advocate.

The complainant said that he had defeated Taimur Jhagra in the last general election and was elected MPA from provincial assembly constituency PK-79 on PMLN’s ticket. He said the losing candidate later started a smear campaign against him on social media and accused him of being an Afghan national and a convict, which damaged his reputation and caused him mental agony.
