PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim presided over a progress review meeting involving the district judiciary and members of the bar associations across Malakand division on Friday and asked judicial officers to ensure swift dispensation of justice.
According to an official communique, the meeting was held at the Peshawar High Court, Mingora Bench in Swat.The gathering brought together district judiciary officials, presidents of the PHC Mingora Bench Bar Association, district and tehsil bar associations from Malakand division, and members of the KP Bar Council.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to conduct a comprehensive review of the progress regarding case pendency, identify obstacles hindering case dispensation, and foster collaboration between the bench and bars to expedite the delivery of justice.
During the meeting, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim underscored the importance of cooperation within the legal fraternity to ensure the swift and efficient dispensation of justice to the litigant public.
He directed the district judiciary to work with dedication to alleviate the grievances of litigants and provide them with maximum assistance, given their crucial role in the judicial system.District and sessions judges presented the current status of pending cases in their respective districts and engaged in discussions about the challenges they face.
Representatives from the bar associations also voiced their concerns and sought resolutions from the chief justice. In response, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim directed all district and sessions judges to intensify their efforts towards effective court and case management within the existing resources.
He reiterated the Peshawar High Court’s firm stance against any malpractices within the judicial system and declared a zero-tolerance policy, urging vigilance from all stakeholders.
Regarding infrastructure projects within the judiciary in Malakand division, he assured attendees that despite constraints in funding from the provincial government, he remained committed to optimising available resources by prioritising schemes for timely completion.
Recognising that rebuilding public trust requires a collective endeavor, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim called for unwavering commitment from all stakeholders, assuring his full support for the cause of justice sector reform and expecting the same from others.
