“We have been experiencing daylong power outages for the last two weeks, which has affected our business,” Attaullah, the president of the traders’ body, told reporters in Oghi.Flanked by other office-bearers, he said that all the traders and shopkeepers had suffered a huge loss.

“Our businesses have adversely been affected owing to the prolonged and unscheduled power outages and it has become difficult for us to earn a livelihood and bear overhead expenses,” Attaullah said.

The traders’ leader said that people from different walks of life had taken to the streets in Oghi earlier this week to demand an end to the current spate of daylong power outages but to no avail. “The trader fraternity will be left with no other option but to observe a complete strike If the prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding continued in the city and its suburbs,” Attaullah added.
