NBP to decide pension matters as per court orders

MULTAN: National Bank of Pakistan President and Chief Executive Rehmat Ali Hasnie has said the bank will have to decide pension matters of retired employees in light of court orders and according to the law, rules and regulations.

Talking to The News during his visit here on Tuesday, he said the bank was bound to comply with court orders at any cost. Pensioners’ matters will be solved in light of court directions. The bank had filed a review petition against a high court verdict in favour of retired NBP employees. The NBP pensioners went into litigation against the bank in 2017, six years before his appointment. The bank is bound by rules and regulations and cannot move against laws. He said the pensioners were filing contempt petitions against the bank reluctance in implementing SC orders in their favour.
