PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Employees Union has accused the director general of posting his favourite officers to important positions in the authority.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday, union president Din Muhammad Khalil and other office-bearers alleged that there were malpractices in the authority and accused the DG of targeting those officials who were raising their voice over it.
The union president and other office-bearers accused the DG of abusing his authority and bringing in officials from outside and deputing them in the PDA at important positions. He alleged that the DG had recruited several people despite a ban.
The union office-bearers alleged that DG had violated the master plan and constructed a new mosque near the DG House worth millions of rupees.They said that Rs 5.3 million had been spent on the renovation of the DG House while the poor employees were living in quarters that were not in good condition.
Din Muhammad alleged that DG had posted his PSO at the important post in violation of the rules. He said that he was being targeted for raising a voice against the DG.The union president asked the government to take action against anyone who was acting against the authority.
