NOWSHERA: Awami National Party local activists have criticised the government over its decision to further increase electricity and gas tariffs.
ANP district secretary general Abdus Samad Khan and others said that the incumbent rulers had made promises before the election that price-hike and inflation would be controlled but now the government had reneged on its pledges and made life miserable for the masses.
They said that the government had increased the tariffs of electricity, petroleum products multiple times and imposed new taxes, which directly affected the poor people.
They said that the government was least bothered to resolve the masses’ issues on priority basis and give them relief.
The Awami National Party activists said that the rulers had overburdened the masses with huge taxes instead of giving them relief.
