MARDAN: Governor Ghulam Ali said on Wednesday that those, who had been given the mandate by the people, had the right to rule the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He said this while talking to a delegation of the Mardan Press Club that visited the Governor’s House in Peshawar. The delegation was led by Mardan Press Club President Muhammad Bashir Adil and General Secretary Akhunzada Fazl-e-Haq.
Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zahir Shah and other members of the press club were also present. Ghulam Ali said it was now the responsibility of those who had been given the mandate by the people to formulate policies to solve the problems facing the province.
He dismissed the impression to impose the governor’s rule in the province, adding that he was a politician and he could not even think of any such move.The governor said that he would leave the Governor’s House if he was asked by his party head Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
“I am a political worker and have respect for the mandate of the people. I cannot even think of imposing the governor’s rule in the province,” he added.To a question, he said that he was ready to play his role to maintain a working relationship between the province and the federation. He said that political seriousness was the need of the hour because the country was facing a host of problems, including economic difficulties.
Ghulam Ali said that he was aware of the problems being faced by the universities. The governor said that the media was the fourth pillar of the state and the journalists were the eyes and ears of the society. “In this era of digital media, journalists have a heavy responsibility to provide accurate news to the people,” he said.He added that Mardan was the second largest city in the province, which produced big names in every field.
