Farmers urged to grow more cotton

BUREWALA: Farmers during a mega farmer gathering were urged to grow cotton crop on maximum area of land.In this connection an event was organised at Gaggo Mandi under the auspices of the Agriculture Extension Department, Burewala, on the theme of ‘Grow More Cotton’.

Addressing the farmers, Muhammad Shahid, Assistant Director Agriculture Extension Burewala, urged farmers to cultivate cotton on a maximum area this year. He asked them to grow cotton on time to get good yield.

Muhammad Mohsin Riaz, Agriculture Officer Gaggo Mandi, threw light on modern cotton production technology.Rana Tariq Hussain, Senior Agriculture Officer Burewala, informed farmers about agricultural implements (Happy Seeder, Pak Seeder, etc.) being subsidized by the Punjab government under the Smog Control Programme. He encouraged them to avail of these subsidies to enhance their farming practices.
