NOWSHERA: Several roosters were seized from a cockfighting event and handed over to the Department of Wildlife by Judicial Magistrate Farooq Ahmed.
Personnel of Risalpur Police Station shifted three roosters, valued at hundreds of thousands of rupees, to the Wildlife Department’s custody, for onward relocation to Peshawar.The police officials said that 13 suspects were arrested for engaging in cockfighting during a raid on April 12. Three costly roosters were confiscated and kept under the custody of Rasalpur Police Station for a week.
DSP of Wildlife, Naimatullah, confirmed that all three roosters were in good health and have been relocated to the district office. They were scheduled to be transferred to Peshawar today (Friday) for permanent housing.
