A single bench of PHC Acting Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim heard the petition filed by Gorpal Singh, Member Provincial Assembly elected minority reserved seat of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl.

The petitioner requested the court that the hearing in the writ petition seeking the administration of oath to the MPAs elected on reserved seats should be fixed for an early date because the Election Commission of Pakistan had already announced the results.

The lawyer for the petitioner pleaded that PHC had also directed the KP Assembly speaker and his deputy to administer oath to the MPAs but they were applying delaying tactics. The PHC CJ said that a division bench would hear the case and the single bench cannot issue any order in such a petition.
