PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday asked the provincial government to submit its reply within seven days on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Member Provincial Assembly Iftikhar Mashwani whose name was placed on the Exit Control List.
A two-member bench comprising Justice SM Attique Shah and Justice Shahid Ali heard the petition of the MPA who had filed the petition against the placing of the name on the Exit Control List. He was represented by Syed Sikandar Shah Advocate.
Director Legal Abdul Rahman Afridi of the Federal Investigation Agency and Additional Advocate General Bilal Khan Khalil also appeared in the court. The lawyer for the petitioner told the court that his client was a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and his name had been placed on the Exit Control List.
Abdul Rahman Afridi told the court that the name of the MPA was placed on the Exit Control List on the report of the inspector general of police. Justice SM Attique Shah asked the additional advocate general whether the inspector general of police had submitted any report to the court.
The court was told that he had not submitted any report, however, the petitioner was not wanted by the government. The court directed the provincial government to submit its reply to the case within seven days.
