PESHAWAR: Vice-Chairman Sadiq Ali Muhammad and Chairman of the Executive Committee Syed Tamoor Ali Shah of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council have welcomed the establishment of the inquiry commission by the government, following consultation with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the wake of the judges’ letter.

In a statement, they said that Justice (R) Tasadduq Hussain Jilani had a commendable reputation as a judge, playing a role in upholding the constitution and the law with impartial decisions, integrity, and honesty.

They expressed hope that the commission, appointed by the judges of the Islamabad High Court, will review the letter and, following the investigations, determine the responsibilities within the stipulated time for their report. If any interference is found in judicial matters, the commission will propose measures to prevent such intervention in the future.

The vice chairman of the Council condemned the demands for resignations from the chief justices of the Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court as entirely unconstitutional. He stated that both chief justices were fulfilling their duties appropriately.
