Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White has announced the company's first main event in Saudi Arabia is coming this summer which will air live for free on ABC in the United States.
White, 54, made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a video in which he announced four more fights booked for UFC Saudi Arabia along with the main event on June 22, UFC reported.
He revealed that the UFC's first fight "in the kingdom" willpit former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker against the undefeated rising superstar Khamzat Chimaev.
The fight figures to play a major role in the middleweight title picture with newly minted Dricus Du Plessis on top of the heap.
Additionally, White announceda Sergei Pavlovich vs Alexander Volkov matchup for the co-main event asVolkov holds a 3-fight winning streak as he hopes to finally climb into title contention with an emphatic win this summer.
Furthermore, based on White's announcement, fans can look forward to witnesswelterweights Kelvin Gastelumand Daniel Rodriguez face each other in a fierce battle to return to the winning column.
Meanhwile, Brazilian light heavyweight Johnny Walker returns to face former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir in a thrilling fight.
White also announced that the undefeated Shara Magomedov will be making his sophomore Octagon appearance this summer as he faces Ihor Potieria, making UFC’s first visit to Saudi Arabia an epic and historic occasion.
