Braylon Mullins, a 19-year-old baby-faced basketballer, is dominating the headlines for his stunning buzzer-beating shot to snatch victory from the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight.

Despite being in the spotlight, very little is publicly known about his personal life, particularly his dating history.

But a report from last year resurfaced, stating that he has a love story with a striking resemblance to a rom-com/sports movie.

The UConn baller, the CT Insider said, has a girlfriend named Kylee. However, the pair were not sweethearts at first but rivals.

Both studied in rival high schools in Indiana.

However, like a storyline straight out of a movie, the heated rivalry turned into a college romance when they reunited at the University of Connecticut.

According to the report, “She attended a rival Indiana high school and will enrol at UConn later this month."

With Kylee around him, Mullins, reports say, has been better able to manage the chaos of fame that comes with a budding basketball career.

Basking under the spotlight, Kylee plays a stabilising role in Mullins' life, who has a strong potential ahead of him.

“Having Kylee around will be comforting," Mullins said.

"So much else around him is new. He’s got a baby face and big-time potential to do adult basketball things right away. He’s not afraid to shoot, of course. He’s not afraid to learn. He’s not afraid of the spotlight.”
