A written verdict obtained by The News stated that Kiramat Shah, a resident of Jamrud, was found guilty of shooting and killing Ihsanullah in the Bakarabad area of Jamrud in 2020.

After investigation, including the examination of evidence and arguments, the court concluded that Kiramat Shah was responsible for the crime and sentenced him to death, along with a fine of Rs1 million. The court declared that the police had recovered the weapon used in the murder from the perpetrator’s possession.

This is the second death sentence handed down to a resident of Khyber district in a week for murder cases. Just days before, another individual had been sentenced to death after being found guilty of killing a citizen.

The district police officer described the death sentence as a success for the Khyber police, who conducted a fair investigation into the murder cases and provided justice to the bereaved families.
