MANSEHRA: A woman, whose video was uploaded on the social media by her alleged paramour earlier this year, was shot dead by her husband in Khaki Shah Baba area in Oghi on Friday.
The accused, Haider Zaman, told reporters after surrendering to the police that he killed his wife at her insistence as according to him she couldn’t face people out of embarrassment.One Mohammad Shabbir uploaded the video on the Facebook early this year. Mohammad Ali, brother of the woman, shot dead Mohammad Shabbir in February.
Haider Zaman said that his wife was fed up with her life as people used to taunt her though her brother had killed the accused. “Now the soul of my wife would rest in peace as nobody can harass her,” Haider Zaman said.
The police in Oghi registered a case and started investigating the incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police in Oghi Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon said that accused had surrendered to the police.He said the accused would be dealt with as per the law. “The accused has committed a crime and will face the law,” said Jadoon.
