PHC adjourns hearing into Asad Qaiser’s petition

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday adjourned hearing into the writ petition of former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser for 20 days who was seeking the restoration of his perks and privileges and the security detail.

A two-bench comprising Justice SM Attique Shah and Justice Syed Arshad Ali Shah heard the writ petition filed by former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, who was seeking the restoration of his perks and privileges.

However, the court told him that his case would be heard after the formation of the federal and provincial governments and adjourned the hearing for 20 days.Moazzam Butt Advocate appearing for the petitioner told the bench that the government had suspended the perks and privileges of Asad Qaiser and had withdrawn security from him.

He said that Asad Qaiser was the former speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly as well as the National Assembly and the government had withdrawn security from him. Justice SM Attique Shah said that the court would decide the matter after the formation of the next government as the caretakers were about to leave the office.
