Arrangements made for elections in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: The Election Commission has completed all preparations for elections slated for February 8, 2024, in two national and five provincial assembly constituencies of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Adnan Fareed Afridi has been appointed as the district returning officer, while Allah Nawaz will be the returning officer for NA-24, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahbaz Khatak will be the returning officer for NA-25.

The returning officers appointed include: Additional Assistant Commissioner Tanqeed Dilnawaz Khan for PK-62, Additional Assistant Commissioner Abdul Maqsood for PK-63, Additional Assistant Commissioner Waqas ur Rehman for PK-64, Assistant Commissioner Alveena Faiz for PK-65, and Assistant Commissioner Shabqadar Shayan Khan for PK-66.

A total of 1,066,025 voters are expected to exercise their right to vote in Charsadda district, including 585,974 male and 480,051 female voters.Accordingly, a total of 746 polling stations have been established for registered voters, comprising 389 for men, 305 for women, and 52 mixed polling stations. In these polling stations, a total of 2,288 polling booths have been set up, including 1,318 for male voters and 970 for female voters. On the other hand, a security plan has also been formulated, designating 426 polling stations as sensitive, 306 as highly sensitive, and 14 as normal polling stations.
