NOWSHERA: The Nowshera District Council witnessed an uproar on Friday when the opposition members walked out of the House to protest over non-naming of the Public Accounts Committee.

The representatives talked about the electricity, gas and other problems in respective areas and called for reforming the Peshawar Electric Supply Company. The session was convened by Convener Ashfaq Ahmad Khan at the Khushal Khan Khattak Library at Akora Khattak. The representatives called for fumigation in the district to rid the people of mosquitoes.

The opposition members walked out of the council session to register protest at not naming the Public Accounts Committee and nominating opposition leader as its convener. The council convener later held talks with the opposition members and convinced them to
end the boycott of the session. He assured that opposition members would be included in the committee. District Nazim Liaqat Khattak called for naming the Public Accounts Committee at the earliest. He said all funds were being released as per law.
