Larkana doctors on strike warned of legal action if patients suffered
SUKKUR: The District and Sessions Judge of Larkana has warned those doctors and paramedics who are on strike to have cases registered against them if any patient dies because of the strike. The District and Sessions Judge of Larkana, Abdul Ghafoor Kalhoro, along with the SP headquarters, Tauqir Muhammed Naseem, visited the Civil Hospital unannounced to get first-hand accounts of the situation there.
The patients there approached the officials and alleged that there was a shortage of medicines and that the doctors were not attending them because of the strike. The judge directed Medical Superintendent Javeed Shaikh to remove the patients’ grievances. He warned the MS of legal action against the hospital if anybody died because of the doctors’ strike. The judge told the doctors that if they had grievances, they should go to the court but resorting to staging a strike was not compatible with their status.
