E-Job training for youths soon: CM
Says programme will provide honourable jobs
LAHORE
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Punjab government has started a number of programmes for the empowerment of youths, which are yielding positive results for the progress of youths, their empowerment and provision of job opportunities.
He said that the Punjab government had decided to launch E-Job Training Programme, which will play an important role in the provision of respectable job opportunities to youths. He said that ‘E-Job Training Programme’ would play an important role in providing honourable jobs to youths.
He was addressing a meeting on Friday at Civil Secretariat through a video link, in which, the implementation of programmes for empowering youths was reviewed.
The chief minister said that youths could ensure bright future of Pakistan and provision of resources for empowering them was a useful investment in the future of the country. He said that all-out resources would be provided for this purpose. Imparting training for provision of digital jobs was the need of the hour, he said, adding that youths would be empowered by imparting training in information technology to them under E-Job Training Programme.
sShahbaz Sharif directed steering committee to evolve a programme and finalise recommendations in this regard at the earliest. He said that 60 percent population of the country comprised of youths and they were our national asset. He said that the destiny of the country and the nation could be changed by empowering the youth. He said that the implementation of Skills Development Programme was continuing successfully for providing jobs to the youth and enabling them to stand on their own feet.
He said that training in various skills had been provided to thousands of youths under this programme so far. He said that the pace of development of the country could be accelerated through promotion of information technology. He said that the Punjab government had taken effective steps for promotion of information technology and E-Job Training Programme was a part of it, under which, youths would be equipped with modern technology.
Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board Dr Umar Saif gave a briefing about the basic features of E-Job Training Programme.
NEW BUSES: Shahbaz Sharif presided over 8th meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority, here Friday, which decided to ply new buses on the feeder routes of Lahore and Pakistan (Rawalpindi-Islamabad) Metro Bus Projects. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the new buses would also be plied on the feeder routes of Multan Metro Bus Project after its completion. He said that due to these buses, the citizens would be facilitated in reaching and leaving Metro Bus Stations. He said that auto fare system would be introduced on the buses to be plied on feeder routes.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train Project would be a masterpiece of transparency, standard and architecture. The meeting also approved important matters relating to Orange Line Train and Metro Bus System.
MINISTER: Federal Minister for Trade Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Friday.Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that due to solid economic policies of Pakistan Muslim League-N government, the national economy had improved and new job opportunities had been created as a result of promotion of trade and economic activities as well as investment.
He said that splendid success had been achieved on the economic front during last two and a half years. He said that the journey of hope and peace had started in Pakistan and under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the country would be made peaceful and strong economy. Federal Minister for Trade Khurram Dastgir said that the chief minister was serving the people.
