NA-13 Mansehra: PML-N MPA adamant on competing against party MNA
MANSEHRA: The reconciliatory efforts by Member National Assembly (MNA) Mohammad Safdar failed to persuade Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Saleh Mohammad Khan not to contest the next election against party’s MNA and Federal Minister Sardar Mohammad Yousuf in NA-13.
“The PML-N’s central leadership is going to issue a show-cause notice to MPA Saleh Mohammad Khan, who is campaigning as an independent contender against party candidate and Federal Minister Sardar Mohammad Yousuf in NA-13,” said Zafar Mehmood, the district president of PML-N while taking to reporters here on Monday.
MPA Saleh Mohammad Khan recently developed differences with party’s MNA and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf over some petty issues.MNA Mohammad Safdar, who is son-in-law of former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, held talks with dissident Saleh Mohammad Khan recently and asked him to end his differences with Sardar Yousuf but he didn’t and is still campaigning as an independent contender from NA-13 Mansehra-1.
Sources revealed that Saleh Mohammad had been in contact with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership to get ticket to contest the upcoming general election from NA-13.“We have offered Saleh Mohammad to contest for PK-33 or 34 or both but he is still campaigning for himself which is unacceptable to party high-ups and a strict action would be taken against him,” said Zafar Mehmood.
He said Mohammad Safdar held talks with Saleh Mohammad to convince him to work with Sardar Yousuf in the larger interests of the party, but to no avail.Zafar Mehmood said that PML-N President and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and party’s provincial president Amir Muqam were annoyed with Saleh Mohammad over his stubborn attitude.
