Sohaib Maqsood ruled out of Bangladesh series due to injury

LAHORE: Right-hand middle order batsman Sohaib Maqsood has been ruled out of Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh due to an injury.

Maqsood who was part of the team’s ODI and Twenty20 suffered from recurrence of a fracture in his upper-left-arm. Sohaib had already joined the camp, and he complained of acute pain during the gym/fitness session on the first morning.

LAHORE: Right-hand middle order batsman Sohaib Maqsood has been ruled out of Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh due to an injury.

Maqsood who was part of the team’s ODI and Twenty20 suffered from recurrence of a fracture in his upper-left-arm. Sohaib had already joined the camp, and he complained of acute pain during the gym/fitness session on the first morning.

Subsequently he underwent investigation, which revealed that there is a tiny broken piece of bone off the hook of hamate.

After consulting fellow selectors and having sought Chairman PCB, Shaharyar Mohammad Khan's approval, Pakistan chief selector Haroon Rashid named Saad Nasim as his replacement for the ODI squad; Saad was already a member of the Twenty20 International squad for the Bangladesh series.

On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the schedule for the upcoming series with Bangladesh which will begin on April 17.

The series will consist of three ODIs, one T20 and two test matches. The ODI matches will be played on 17, 19 and 22 April in Mirpur. The only T20 in the series will also be played in Mirpur on April 24.

The two test matches will be played on 28 April in Khulna and on May 6 in Mirpur.
