DAGGAR: Two young boys allegedly shot dead a senior lawyer in Paee Cheena near Anghapur village in the limits of Daggar Police Station in Buner district on Friday, sources said. The sources said that Dost Mohammad Khan, who was member of the District Bar Association, was sitting in a restaurant when the assailants opened fire on him. He died on the spot. He was also the member of Jamaat-i-Islami district shura. It was learnt that he usually took tea at a local restaurant on the way to courts. The accused managed to flee. His body was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Daggar for post-mortem examination. Later, his funeral prayer was offered at his village and he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard. A large number of villagers, relatives, lawyers, judges, political figures and well-wishers attended the funeral. His nephew Sahib Roz Khan lodged the first information report against unidentified accused at the Daggar Police Station. Meanwhile, the District Bar Association in Buner at a hurriedly called meeting condemned the killing of the senior lawyer. The meeting was chaired by District Bar Association President Shams Buneri. It announced three-day mourning and demanded thorough investigation into the tragic incident to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice. Later, speaking at a press conference Shams Buneri said that a delegation comprising and senior lawyers including Shamsur Rehman, Ghulam Mustafa and Badiuzzaman held a meeting with District Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani to demand speedy investigation into the gory incident. He was flanked by general secretary Abdul Marood Khan and senior lawyers Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Rafiqullah Khan and others. Shams Buneri said the killers behind the murder of their colleague should be brought to the dock as soon as possible. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council would also be asked to observe province-wide mourning to condemn the killing of Dost Mohammad Khan.
