Barkaat’s painting exhibition inaugurated

Renowned Artist and Calligrapher Dr Ejaz Anwar inaugurated an exhibition of paintings by young artist Barkaat at the Alhamra Art Gallery, The Mall on Tuesday.
The exhibition, which has been organised by the Rotary Club of Lahore Gardens attracted a large number of artists, art students and art lovers.
The organisers of this event, Rubina Qureshi, Dr Arshia Qasim, Dr Sobia Shahid and Ahmed Hasnaat told The News that the proceeds from the sale of these paintings would go to the Polio Plus Fund, created by the Rotary Foundation. The artist Barkaat is a student of Dr Ejaz Anwar and the exhibition is housing over 60 paintings of this unique artist, who had an accident at the age of 22, which resulted into an attack of paralysis. After the paralysis attack, Barkaat went into a coma for three months. After coming out of the coma, Barkaat never lost his commitment to painting and continued to create masterpieces with his left hand. The paintings bring a hope to the depressed hearts.
